Rules, Conditions & Prices

RESPECT & CONDUCT

  • Respect the fish, lake, other anglers, neighbours and surrounding property.

  • Keep noise to a minimum, especially at night. No loud music.

  • No high beams or horns when arriving/leaving in darkness. Be considerate to other road users.

  • No antisocial, threatening or violent behaviour. Violence/threats will be reported to police and result in a lifetime ban.

  • No drugs, dealing or firearms. Knives with blades over 4" are prohibited.

  • Drink responsibly.

  • Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement. They must be kept on a lead, under control and cleaned up after.

  • Children under 16 must remain with a responsible adult. Children under 12 should wear a suitable life jacket near the water.

🎣 BAIT & PARTICLES

  • Sweetcorn is permitted.

  • Only Welbeck Lake particles may be used unless prior permission is given.

  • Particles: £5 per kg, maximum 2 kg per angler/session, subject to availability. Pre-order 24 hours in advance.

  • No nuts or tiger nuts.

  • High-quality boilies and Aller Aqua pellets only.

  • Other pellets require prior permission.

  • Aller Aqua pellets: £5/kg or 5 kg for £20.

  • DNA boilies/dumbells: £11/kg, available to pre-order.

  • Bait can be collected on arrival.

🐟 RIGS & FISHING

  • Maximum 2 rods per angler.

  • Carp rods only, minimum 2.5 lb test curve.

  • Minimum 15 lb mainline. No braided mainline except for spod/marker work.

  • Butt grips are compulsory.

  • Micro-barb or barbless hooks only.

  • No fixed rigs. Rigs must be capable of losing the lead/hooklink if snagged.

  • No lead drop-off systems.

  • Minimum 12" rig tubing.

  • Zigs, pop-ups, wafters and float fishing are permitted.

  • Floating bait must be used in moderation.

  • Fish only from designated pegs.

  • Carp-care must be used for any damage.

  • Fish may be retained in a sack temporarily if they need to recover, but must be returned as soon as safely possible.

  • Anglers must remain within one peg of unattended rods.

  • Regular rig checks will be carried out.

  • All anglers must hold a valid EA Rod Licence.

🧰 EQUIPMENT

  • Unhooking mats, cradles and slings are provided by Welbeck Lake.

  • Communal barrows are available. Return them to the entrance after use.

  • Report any damage to lake equipment immediately.

  • Bait boats are permitted.

  • Fishing equipment, bivvies and bedchairs are available to hire, subject to availability.

  • Firepits: £10/24 hours including logs. Additional logs £5 per bag.

  • BBQs are permitted only when raised off the ground and away from woodwork and stoned areas.

🚨 LAKE SAFETY

  • No swimming.

  • The rowing boat is for staff use only.

  • Keep to designated paths wherever possible.

  • Do not walk close to the lake edges. Soft ground may collapse without warning.

  • Do not climb the mounds around the lake. Anyone caught doing so, including on CCTV, will be asked to leave without refund.

  • Use steps around pegs at your own risk.

  • Gates must be kept closed. Anyone deliberately leaving gates open will be banned.

  • Report snagged fish, welfare concerns or other emergencies immediately to a bailiff or Jimbo:

🗑️ RUBBISH

There are NO general rubbish bins provided.

  • Take all rubbish, bait waste and cigarette ends home with you.

  • Deliberate littering will result in a ban.

  • Please report anyone seen deliberately littering.

👥 VISITORS

  • All visitors and viewings require prior permission.

  • Visitors must remain under the control of the angler responsible for them.

  • Do not enter the owner's private property behind the high wooden fence.

  • Jimbo can be contacted between 07:00 and 22:00. Outside these hours, contact is for emergencies only.

📹 CCTV & SECURITY

The lake, car park, gates and surrounding property are covered by 24-hour CCTV.

CCTV may be used to investigate breaches of the lake rules.

Anyone banned must leave immediately and will not receive a refund.

🎫 TICKET PRICES

DAY TICKET | 07:00–19:00

  • Adult / 16+: £12.50

  • Under 16 with fishing adult: £7.50

  • Under 16 with non-fishing adult: £10

24-HOUR TICKET | 12:00–12:00

  • Adult / 16+: £25

  • Under 16 with fishing adult: £10

  • Under 16 with non-fishing adult: £15

🏕️ PRIVATE LAKE HIRE

Private hire provides exclusive use of the entire lake for your group, up to 12 anglers.

Daily private hire: £300
(£250 fishing + £50 weekday exclusivity)

Monday 07:00 – Thursday 19:00: £950
(£875 fishing + £75 exclusivity)

Friday 07:00 – Sunday 19:00: £750
(£625 fishing + £125 exclusivity)

Full 7 days: £1,900
(£1,750 fishing + £150 exclusivity)

Private bookings are subject to availability.

💷 BOOKINGS & PAYMENT

  • A 50% non-refundable deposit is required to secure any booking.

  • All fishing must be paid for in full before fishing begins.

  • If no bailiff is present, payment should be placed in an envelope through the house gate letterbox with: Name / Date / Time / Session length.

⚠️ IMPORTANT DISCLAIMER

The management will not accept any liability for any injury or death to any person whilst on the lake banks/pegs, car park and entrance or while using any equipment that has been loaned or hired or while using any facilities provided.

Any person failing to follow these rules may be asked to leave and/or banned, without refund.

Rules may be amended from time to time. Any changes will be posted in the Welbeck Lake AKA Happy Endings Facebook group and on my website, WelbeckLake.com.

By booking or fishing at Welbeck Lake, you confirm that you have read, understood and agree to these rules.

A simple 👍🏼 by text is accepted as confirmation.
