Nestled on the outskirts of Malton in the heart of the beautiful North Yorkshire countryside, Welbeck Lake is a purpose-built specimen fishery offering exceptional carp and catfish angling in a peaceful and exclusive setting.

Surrounded by a mature tree-lined boundary, the lake provides anglers with privacy, tranquillity and stunning natural surroundings, while remaining easily accessible from across Yorkshire.

A Modern Specimen Fishery

Privately owned and constructed in September 2025, Welbeck Lake was carefully designed with the serious angler in mind. The 2.5-acre lake combines excellent water quality, varied underwater features and a quality stock of hard-fighting fish to provide a rewarding angling experience throughout the year.

The lake was stocked in February 2026 with:

40 specimen carp ranging from 16lb to 25lb

10 catfish up to 30lb

No fish under 16lb, ensuring every bite has the potential to be a memorable capture
